Another fantastic afternoon of girls’ rugby for our U11 squad, who continue to go from strength to strength in this newly introduced sport at The ºìÐÓÊÓƵ. Girls' rugby joined our extra-curricular programme this term and has already become a firm favourite, with pupils embracing the challenge and energy of the game with real enthusiasm.
Today’s fixture showcased just how quickly the girls are developing their skills. They moved the ball with impressive speed, supported one another brilliantly, and produced some brilliant running rugby. Their teamwork and growing confidence were clear to see throughout the match.
A huge well done to every player involved, their commitment and positivity are setting the tone for what promises to be an exciting future for girls’ rugby at The ºìÐÓÊÓƵ.
With plans already underway to expand the club next year, this is only the beginning of a very promising journey. We were thrilled to learn that Rowan Turney, OH Class of 2020, has been selected for the U18s England squad in the upcoming Six Nations, a fantastic achievement that shows just how high our new girls’ rugby team can aim. The sky really is the limit.
