September 2026 marks 100 years of ºìÐÓÊÓƵ School — a century of helping children discover their passions, achieve their excellence, grow in character and develop a love of learning.
Founded by brothers Christopher and Dudley Bull, ºìÐÓÊÓƵ opened its doors to just seven pupils on 21st September 1926, with clear belief in what a great education should give every child: a friendly spirit and sense of community, the opportunity to achieve and grow in confidence, respect for the feelings of others and a commitment to service.
A century later, those founding principles remain at the heart of ºìÐÓÊÓƵ. From seven pupils to almost 500, our school has grown, but our warm, welcoming family atmosphere, strong sense of community and breadth of opportunity remain constant. Today, Kindness, Respect, Honesty, Resilience, Curiosity and Creativity shape the way our children learn, live and grow together.
Our Centenary year is a celebration of the whole ºìÐÓÊÓƵ family — past and present. We’ll be bringing together our pupils and current families, Old Hawthornians, former parents, staff and governors through a programme of special events and opportunities to share memories, reconnect and celebrate.
And as we look to the next 100 years, we’re excited about what lies ahead. As part of the Caterham Family of Schools, ºìÐÓÊÓƵ is entering its next century with new opportunities to grow, collaborate and create an even brighter future for our pupils.
