The School Structure

The ºìÐÓÊÓƵ welcomes children from the age of 6 months to begin their exciting journey of education and discover a love of learning for life. Children join The ºìÐÓÊÓƵ into The ºìÐÓÊÓƵ Nursery or Reception and move up naturally each year to the next part of the School.

The ºìÐÓÊÓƵ Nursery consists of four small classes for children from 6 months to 3 years where babies and toddlers thrive in a safe, secure and vibrant learning environment where purposeful play is always the order of the day. Each class is self-contained and provides a warm family feel with a dedicated team of Nursery staff. Purposeful play continues in our Ark Pre-School for 3-4 year olds but with more adult-directed learning activities. Each of the three small Ark Pre-School classes is led by a Nursery Teacher, supported by a Learning Support Assistant.

In Reception, pupils aged 4-5 years are looked after by a Form Teacher and Learning Support Assistant in three modern, purpose built classrooms.  We have a regular entrance of new children each year, which means that we have three classes of 20 children with an equal balance of boys and girls. Set within 35 acres of grounds, which include playing fields, ancient woodlands with a nature trail, a woodland classroom, a lake, orchards and vegetable gardens, children move up to through the Lower School each year and enjoy developing and growing their confidence.

The Middle School, for children aged 8 to 11, builds on the foundations of the Early Years and the Lower School.  At the start of the Middle School, in Year 3 and Year 4, children receive a Form Teacher based education ensuring they are well known and cared for in their formative years.

The Upper School in Years 7 and 8 reflects the gradual move from class teaching to subject specialist teaching and a preparation for senior school life.
