Sport

Sport plays a large and very important part in the life of a pupil at The ºìÐÓÊÓƵ. A wide breadth of opportunities are on offer to all of our pupils in a school that firmly believes in 'Sport for All'. Individual and team achievements are based on inspiring coaching, thorough and focused preparation, good sportsmanship, dogged determination, enjoyment and an exposure to a whole spectrum of competitive situations. All sports are taught and coached by a talented team of staff, all of whom have National Governing body qualifications in their chosen fields.

We are proud of the development opportunities on offer which enable pupils to reach County and National levels.

PE

Pupils from Reception through to Year 6 receive a weekly PE lesson (Year 7 and 8 half termly) in which they develop hand eye coordination, movement and team work skills through a variety of physical activities. Pupils have the opportunity to participate in Athletics, Basketball and Gymnastics alongside some more diverse activities such as Fitness testing, Outdoor Education including High Wires and the Young Leaders Award.

Swimming

Weekly swimming lessons are offered to all children from Reception through to Year 6 and half termly for Year 7 and 8. We have selected performance squads in the Lower School and Early Morning training offered for our Upper School team. Our aim is that by the end of Year 3, all pupils can swim one length in our 20m pool (The National Curriculum states that by the end of Year 6 every child should be able to swim 25m).
