The warmth set up in The ºìÐÓÊÓƵ Nursery and Lower School continues in the Middle School. As each child joins Year 3 (aged 7) they continue to enjoy classroom based teaching with their Form Teacher and a similar level of teaching from specialist teachers. Each Form Teacher looks after and teaches most of the timetable to their class thereby ensuring thorough oversight and care of all aspects of the child’s life at school. The Middle School builds upon the foundations laid in the Lower School and it is in every sense part of a natural progression through The ºìÐÓÊÓƵ.

Setting children into smaller teaching groups based upon ability in English and Maths ensures each child can work at a pace that is best for them and allows them to make the best progress.

With growing confidence, children develop greater independence and skills of organisation later they are introduced to more subject specialist based teaching from Year 5 upwards. This forms an excellent preparation for senior school life. English, Mathematics, Science remain the core subjects, taught alongside French, Computing, History, Geography, Religious Studies. These are complemented by Art, Design & Technology, Drama, Music, Games, Physical Education and Swimming each week.

As children move into Year 6 children are prepared for assessments for senior schools. Many entrance tests for senior school are taken in Year 6 whether it is for entry at 11+ or 13+. Interview practice, specific examination practice and appropriate scholarship preparation are provided within the curriculum and in after school sessions.

The ºìÐÓÊÓƵ has transformed life for my daughter. Her confidence was at an all-time low, at only 5 years old she felt inferior to her peers, having been told by her teachers at her old school that she was not as able as her friends. Her form teacher scooped her up and within a week was sending her home with books to read - something she had never experienced before and absolutely delighted her! With the gentle care, kindness, support and encouragement The ºìÐÓÊÓƵ has given, she has blossomed, growing her confidence, social skills and academic abilities.

There has not been a single day that my daughter hasn’t come home from The ºìÐÓÊÓƵ with a spring in her step and a smile on her face, she has absolutely loved her time with you.
