Hammerhead Swim Squad deliver outstanding results at the IAPS National Swimming Finals

Tue 09 Jun 2026

On Saturday 6th June 13 members of our Hammerhead Swim Squad competed in the IAPS National Finals at the London Aquatic centre.

With over 4,000 competitors competing at one of 35 plus qualifiers that took place during the spring term, we were delighted that so many of our Hammerheads were among the 1,500 who qualified to swim in the Finals.

Our Year 7 boys, Harry, Guy, Alex and Oscar, delivered an exceptional performance in the morning session. They qualified for both the medley and freestyle relays, securing Silver in the medley and Bronze in the freestyle relay. Individually, the boys continued to shine:

  • Oscar earned Silver in the butterfly.

  • Harry claimed Silver in the breaststroke.

  • Alex placed 19th nationally in the backstroke.

Our Year 5 boys,  Liam, William, Edward, and Seb, also qualified for the freestyle relay, finishing 10th in the country. In individual events, Liam qualified for the 50m butterfly and achieved 16th place nationally.

In the afternoon, our Year 6 girls, Tayana, Morgan, Scarlett, Emily and Katerina, competed in both the medley and freestyle relays, finishing 19th and 15th in the country respectively. Individually, Morgan qualified 11th for the 50m butterfly and went on to finish an impressive 7th nationally.

Representing Year 7, Juliette qualified for the 50m breaststroke and placed 20th in the country.

We are immensely proud of all 13 pupils who competed with such resilience and enthusiasm. Their achievements reflect not only their talent but also their commitment to training and supporting one another throughout this year.
