Two to three year old Nursery Adventurers took to the great outdoors this week for another wonderful Forest School session, and the learning was absolutely everywhere.
Enjoying the spring sunshine, the children threw themselves into a range of activities that brought nature's classroom to life. Getting creative with leaf art, they explored shapes and patterns by punching designs into leaves, developing their fine motor skills and creative thinking in equal measure. Over in the mud kitchen, imaginations ran wild as the children rustled up the most delicious leaf pies.
Perhaps the highlight of the session, however, was a very special discovery. A sprouting conker captured the children's curiosity and sparked a flurry of wonderful questions, as they began to wonder how this tiny seed might one day grow into a mighty tree. It was a magical moment of natural inquiry and exactly the kind of learning that Forest School does best.
At The ºìÐÓÊÓƵ we believe that the outdoors is one of the richest classrooms of all, and Forest School sessions like these are a reminder of just how much children discover when they are free to explore, question and play.
