Yesterday afternoon Old Hawthornian Sam Johns gave a very informative presentation to Year 8 pupils about his work in Nepal where he is helping to deliver sustainability projects by recycling plastic bottles.

Sam is working with the organisation PSD, the Partnership for Sustainable Development. PSD is a social enterprise based in the capital city Kathmandu, which supports rural projects in Nepal, with a focus on education and student empowerment, as well as gender issues, community micro-financing and building developments.

Sam's knowledge and passion of Nepal was inspirational and both pupils and staff enjoyed his facinating visit!
