Pupils have been observing birds and wildlife within the School grounds this term from their very own bird hide!

Funded by our School Parents’ association and built by current parent Jim Rook, the bird hide is proving to be a fantastic resource for pupils throughout the School to survey birds and wildlife from a hidden location.

With a focus on outdoor learning, the bird hide is one of many initiatives the School has been putting in place to develop our grounds and woodland area as a space for outdoor learning. Alongside the woodland classroom, where pupils take part in weekly Conservation lessons including practical woodland management skills and National surveys such as the RSPB Big Schools’ Bird Watch. Our youngest pupils are also experiencing learning within the natural world through weekly Forest School sessions.

Christened ‘The Rookery’, The ºìÐÓÊÓƵ’ pupils and staff would like to thank our parents’ association, FROTH, and in particular former chairman, Jim Rook, on a fantastic construction that will no doubt be enjoyed for many years to come!
