During their final week at The ºìÐÓÊÓƵ, our Year 8 pupils enjoyed one of the school’s most special traditions: hosting a formal dinner to thank their parents and teachers for the support they have received throughout their ºìÐÓÊÓƵ journey.
This is no ordinary dinner. From the very beginning, the pupils take responsibility for planning and hosting the entire occasion. Working with our Catering Team, they help to create the menu before transforming the Stephens Hall into a dining room, laying and decorating the tables ready to welcome their guests.
Dressed in their evening wear, each pupil then takes on the important role of host for the evening. Sitting with parents other than their own, they create and lead the conversation at their tables, ensuring that every guest feels welcome and included. They also serve the dinner themselves, taking care of their guests throughout the evening.

The celebrations continue with musical entertainment from the pupils, while a rolling presentation celebrates each child and the journey they have taken through The ºìÐÓÊÓƵ. From their earliest days at the school to their final week in Year 8, the photographs and memories provide a wonderful reminder of just how far they have come.

It is a truly special evening and a fitting opportunity for our Year 8 pupils to say thank you to the teachers and families who have supported them along the way. At the same time, it offers pupils the chance to demonstrate so many of the qualities they have developed during their time at The ºìÐÓÊÓƵ: confidence, independence, consideration and the ability to take responsibility.
As they prepare to move on to their new schools, this much-loved ºìÐÓÊÓƵ tradition provides a memorable celebration of their journey so far — and a wonderful final opportunity to take centre stage before the next exciting chapter begins.
