We welcomed David Harkin, CEO of 7 Billion Ideas, into School this week to run a workshop for Years 3 and 4 which encouraged them to devise and develop a world changing idea.
7 Billion Ideas is an award-winning education company which exists to inspire pupils and teachers to think big and dream big about the possibility of their ideas.
Year 3 and 4 worked tirelessly throughout the day to collaborate, explore and create a world changing idea, resulting in some incredible designs. Ideas included a new shoe that picks up rubbish with magnets and suckers to rid the world of rubbish, a Magic Pen which turns everything into 3D, water pipes which transport food and water around the world and a pigeon shower which lures a pigeon in with food and then cleans them of mites and infections that spread diseases. With so many innovative ideas it wasn’t easy for the staff and the 7 Billion Ideas team to decide on a winning team, however due to their kindness, collaboration and interdependence throughout the day Emma S, Anna D and Ada H were crowned the winners with their Eco-friendly bracelet which senses when people drop litter and flashes red, sending an alert to the police.
The day concluded with an inspirational presentation to staff by David about how a 4 year old can change the world.
A huge thank you to David and Ravi from 7 Billion Ideas for inspiring our pupils and staff to think big, with David commenting ‘Wow these students were fantastic. Super ambassadors for your school. Amazing teamwork all day!’
