Congratulations to Stanley who finished first place in the U10 category at the 2018 British Biathlon Championships in Leeds. This is an exceptional achievement against the top U10 children from all across Britain. He had a thrilling 800m run where he and another competitor pushed each other all the way to the finish line, finishing neck to neck.
We are also extremely proud of Shakila and Ollie who represented ºìÐÓÊÓƵ in the U12 and U11 categories. Shakila finished in 4th place, her highest ever position, and Ollie in 21st. All three pupils performed well and improved both their swimming and running personal bests.
The British Biathlon Championships is a competition for all age groups and is run by Pentathlon GB, the national governing body for the Olympic sport of Modern Pentathlon in Great Britain. It comprises a separate run and swim with distances increasing with competitors’ age. The competitors qualified for the finals last month by competing in regional rounds. Shakila, Ollie & Stanley will also compete at the British Schools Biathlon Finals in March 2019, along with other ºìÐÓÊÓƵ pupils.
