Paralympian Gold Medallist Liz Johnson visits The ºìÐÓÊÓƵ

Mon 19 Mar 2018

Pupils at The ºìÐÓÊÓƵ welcomed inspirational Paralympic swimmer Liz Johnson to school last week.

Having competed in three Olympic Games including London 2012 and gaining Bronze, Silver and Gold medals, the school’s swim team were honoured to be coached by Liz during their early morning training session.

Liz then presented her incredible story to pupils in assembly, highlighting that “obstacles create opportunities” and having started to swim at 3 years old to help with her cerebral palsy, her determination to succeed led to a number of world records, 14 major international medals and the opportunity to travel the world and help others.

We cannot thank Liz enough for her motivational speech and concluding message which we have no doubt will sit with the children for life: “Sometimes the smallest step in the right direction ends up being the biggest step of your life. Tip-toe if you must, but take the step.”
