Year 8 pupils present their Independent Projects

Wed 12 Jun 2019

Last week saw the Year 8 Independent Project Presentation Evening. Ten pupils undertook individual projects on a topic of their own choosing. They had to plan their investigation and conduct research, interviews and evaluations of the issues pertaining to their line of enquiry over a period of three months. The Individual Project is akin to, and prepares the children for, the Extended Project Qualification that can be taken alongside A Levels or IB at senior school.

An audience of staff, parents and members of the Governing Body were delighted to hear from the Year 8 speakers on a variety of topics ranging from 'Why sharks should not be hunted', to 'Is nuclear fusion a viable future energy source?' and 'What is really in the food we eat?'

Everyone was impressed with the superb quality of the presentations and the high standard of information conveyed. This is a significant achievement and the pupils should be very proud of their work.
