Learning through play is at the heart of everything the Nursery does. The autumn activities this term have provided countless opportunities for children to ask questions, solve problems, make choices, and express their own ideas. Whether creating a collage from fallen leaves, designing an autumn hat or discovering what was hidden inside a pumpkin, the children were encouraged to think creatively and build confidence in their achievements whilst developing an understanding of seasonal change.
Outdoor learning also plays a vital role in supporting children's physical development and wellbeing. Exploring the school grounds, hunting for seasonal treasures and engaging with nature helped to develop coordination, balance and fine motor skills, while fostering a sense of awe and appreciation for the natural environment.
Most importantly, these shared experiences have been full of excitement and discovery. By immersing themselves in the sights, sounds and textures of autumn, the children have strengthened their communication and social skills, developed their imagination and creativity, and built a deeper connection with the world around them.
