At ºìÐÓÊÓƵ School, pupil voice plays a valued role in school life, ensuring that children have opportunities to share their ideas, express their views and contribute to the wider school community. Through the Lower School Council, pupils develop confidence, leadership skills, and a sense of responsibility as they represent the thoughts and opinions of their peers.
School Council members meet regularly to discuss ways to enhance school life, share suggestions and explore new ideas, helping to create a positive and inclusive environment for all. By encouraging pupils to take an active role in decision-making, ºìÐÓÊÓƵ nurtures a culture where every child feels heard, valued, and empowered to make a meaningful contribution to their school community.
This week, the Lower School School Council met to discuss ideas for enhancing school life. Pupils shared thoughtful suggestions about different aspects of the school day and explored ways they could help make the experience even more enjoyable for everyone.
As part of their role, the children were presented with fluorescent jackets to wear during playtimes, making them easily identifiable to their peers. This new responsibility enables them to provide support and assistance whenever needed. Their first task was to help during morning break, lending a hand with activities such as construction projects, tidying away resources, or simply offering a few kind and encouraging words to a friend.
The Lower School pupils are incredibly proud of their new role and are enthusiastic about making a positive contribution to the school community.
